Zineb Bouchra (b. 2001, Agadir) is a Moroccan painter working in mixed media on canvas. She trained at the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) in Tétouan, studying painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking before settling into a practice built almost entirely around abstraction.
Her paintings begin with something hard to hold onto: the moment just before waking, when an image loosens and the feeling of it outlasts the picture. She works through fragmentation rather than storytelling, letting form come apart so that emotion carries the canvas. Much of the work circles memory and inheritance, and the way a difficult past resurfaces in the present as texture and gesture instead of a clear image.
Her work has been shown across Morocco, including a solo exhibition at Gallery Kent in Tangier and the 2026 group show What We Witness, We Carry at L'BLASSA ART SPACE during 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair Marrakech, where she was also a finalist for the Prix Mustaqbal (2024).
